One rainy afternoon, Mark is cleaning his attic. He is tired of all the old boxes and things his family doesn’t need anymore. While moving a big box, he notices something strange behind it. There is a small wooden door hidden in the wall.
Curious, Mark opens the door. Inside, he finds a dusty room filled with old furniture and boxes. On the far wall, there is a large painting covered with a cloth. Mark pulls the cloth away. The painting is beautiful—an old picture of a castle with green fields and a bright blue sky.
Mark is amazed. He has never seen this painting before. “Where did this come from?” he wonders. He decides to take the painting downstairs and show it to his parents.
His parents are also surprised. “This is a family heirloom,” his mother says. “Your great-grandfather painted this many years ago.”
Mark is excited. He never knew his great-grandfather was a painter. He feels proud to have found such a special piece of family history.
