It is a rainy afternoon. Mia is walking home from the library. She hears a soft sound. "Woof! Woof!" She looks around and sees a small, wet puppy under a bench. Mia kneels down and pets the puppy. It is cold and scared. "Where is your home?" she asks. There is no collar on the puppy. Mia decides to help. She picks up the puppy and takes it home. She dries its fur with a towel and gives it some warm milk. The puppy wags its tail and licks Mia’s hand. Mia makes a small bed for the puppy. The next morning, she puts up posters around the neighborhood. After a few hours, a little boy sees the poster and comes to Mia’s house. "That is my puppy, Max!" he says happily. Mia gives the puppy to the boy. He thanks her, and Max barks happily. Mia feels proud. She helped Max find his home!
